The Michelangelo Phenomenon

”The Michelangelo Phenomenon – describes the sculpting effect of a partners affirmation and support for the other partners strive of becoming own ideal self.
Like Michelangelo they see the partner as they are, and let the partners own version of ideals, goals and visions come through without imposing their own.

The Pygmalion Effect – describes the effect of others expectations on oneself that leads to a self fulfilling prophecy based on and led by the expectations.
Like Pygmalion they can strive for perfection in their partner and therefore project and impose their own meaning of perfection on the partner that doesn´t necessary agrees with the partners understanding of perfection.”
